Mic 2 Mac · Version 3.1.1
Support
The fastest fixes for installing and using Mic 2 Mac on your Mac.
System requirements
Mic 2 Mac 3.1.1 requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3, M4, or a newer Apple chip) running macOS 13.3 or later. Intel Macs are not supported. It supports English (United States), needs about 600 MiB of free storage, and needs internet on first launch for the automatic verified 547 MiB speech-model download.
The app and transcription engine are built for macOS 13.3. The exact 3.1.1 download has passed signing, Apple notarization, Gatekeeper, and release tests. Physical testing on the oldest supported macOS version is still in progress, so please contact support if this compatibility-preview build does not launch on your Mac.
Installation
Download Mic 2 Mac 3.1.1 directly from this website.
- Open the downloaded DMG.
- Drag Mic 2 Mac into Applications.
- Open it from Applications and approve Microphone access.
- Enable Mic 2 Mac in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
- Keep Mic 2 Mac open while it automatically downloads and verifies its local speech model.
If the microphone does not appear
Open Mic 2 Mac, click Shortcut, then click Continue when permission is requested. In System Settings, confirm that the Applications copy of Mic 2 Mac is enabled, then quit and reopen it.
If text does not paste
Confirm Accessibility access is enabled and place the cursor inside an editable text field before starting dictation. Press the configured key once to record and once again to finish.
If the model download pauses
After three downloaded files fail verification, Mic 2 Mac stops automatically retrying to prevent repeated large transfers. Confirm a stable internet connection and choose Retry Download. Never bypass model verification.
Updates
The current download is version 3.1.1. Mic 2 Mac never installs silent updates. Use the in-app Check for updates link, download only from mic2mac.com, and never bypass Gatekeeper.
Download integrity: SHA-256 f6cf50ccd05b1653ea35c414b530ebad1c3ca5965296309e57db0dabcc8f597c.
Archive and clear History
In the app, choose Archive & Clear, select a destination, and confirm. Mic 2 Mac verifies the archive before clearing local History so you keep a portable backup.
Uninstall and delete local history
Quit Mic 2 Mac and move it from Applications to Trash. To remove History, checkpoints, snippets, diagnostics, and the model, delete ~/Library/Application Support/Mic 2 Mac/. That permanently deletes local data unless you have a backup.
